VERY FINE/NEAR MINT

It all comes to a head in this explosive final issue! The house of cards has collapsed. The web of lies has unraveled. With his life falling apart around him, can John Dusk survive? Or will he who chases monsters become a monster himself? Don't miss the shocking conclusion of the acclaimed miniseries - the book Ed Brubaker calls "my favorite thing from Christos Gage so far"! John always knew there would come a time when he had to choose between his two lives. That time is now. And either way, there's no going back. He wants to be forgiven...but he doesn't want to stop.

BONUS REVIEW by SHANNA BERRY

All too often with the last issue of a mini-series readers are left wanting more. This issue leaves you completely satisfied, yet any return to this series from Christos Gage would be celebrated. The series has taken you through some pretty horrific moments, starting with the very first page of issue #0. Hero/cop John Dusk deals with the same mental conflict as any cop: bringing in some obviously guilty perp only to watch them walk on some technicality. In issue #0, when confronting a supercilious pervert/future sex offender who throws it in John’s face that there isn’t a thing he can do about it, our hero is finally pushed over the edge. From that moment on, John takes the law into his own hands. The constant moral dilemma eats at him, all the while his detective girlfriend slowly moves in on the truth. Each issue builds on his predicament, and through his struggles you begin to sympathize with John. His actions may be immoral in nature, but anyone with a soul cannot argue his motives. Avatar hits another hole-in-one with Christos Gage’s unrelenting series Absolution. Brilliant+ Brutal=BUY!!

I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
