During the original Batman television series run, legendary science-fiction writer Harlan Ellison turned in an outline for a story that would have introduced Two-Face. The story never made it to air, and Two-Face never entered the TV show's Rogues Gallery. Now, 'The Two-Way Crimes of Two-Face' is adapted to comics by two comic book legends: writer Len Wein and artist José Luis Garcia-Lopez. Also included in this special edition are Ellison's original prose story outline and the complete, original pencils by Garcia-Lopez.

Reviews

While appalled at the $10 price tag, this book is definitely for the Batman TV show aficionado. Harlan Ellison's script translated well to the printed page through the tried and true hands of comic icon Len Wein. And the Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez art is spot on. The amazing part of the story is some of the amazing similarities to the actual Batman movie. As for who would have been the actor playing Two-Face, my vote would have to be Guy Williams (you know, the Dad from Lost In Space and Zorro). The only thing off about this special is the idea of Two-Face psychosis being portrayed in the campiness of the original show. We are given full blown origin story here and I'm not sure if the creepiness of Two-Face would translate well onto the small screens especially back then. Oh well, we will never know.
