This issue is a TOTAL mixed bag, with two stand-out groaners, one welcome return of Olivier Coipel to interiors, and two SPECTACULAR bookends.

Leading off is a Joker/Bane story by James Tynion IV and Guillem March. THIS Joker is an interesting Joker, unlike the two Jokers we saw in Three Jokers, and March's art sells the crazy in the facial expressions alone (a necessity since they're both basically immobile in the story). Closing is the James Stokoe love letter to Akira you never knew you wanted. The story isn't so hot, but the pages are the prettiest thing in comics this week for sure, this month probably, and even possibly this year. These two stories are worth the price of the book if you have flexible monies, and would have been a fine 3.99 pairing if left alone.
