BONUS REVIEW by John Doc Schaefer

Again DC wows us with it's summer event. This next installment brings us out of Darwyn Cook's wonderfully naive world of super-heroes and into the real world of the 1960's. Politics, personal allegences in the upper corridors of power, and an interesting take on a few historical events. This begins to show us the decline that will result in the familiar world of the Watchmen we all know and love. ***** SPOILER ALERT***** But the best part of this book is the realistic portrayal of America in general at the death of President Kennedy. Gangster, super-hero, man or woman, it didn't matter. As we all watched on our fuzzy black and white analog screens as we were given the news that this man with a positive vision for our future was dead. The whole of America turned to each other and thought, What now? Brian Azzarello lack of dialog is poignent and J.G. Jones captures the loss in each and every face on the page.
