BONUS REVIEW by SHANE WALLACE
Mark Waid's second installment in his updated version of Captain America's
origin. And when I say updated, I mean updated. We have a mid-century
man that has found himself in a space aged 21st century but doesn't
realize it. The last thing Cap knew was he was fighting the Germans, he
still thinks FDR is still in office and the Dodgers still play in New
York. Now he is flooded with people talking about "texting" "cell phones"
and "laptops." This series is a lot of fun watching how Cap would our
experience our world. Him witnessing how much we have advanced and how
far we have come. When Cap originally appeared in 1963's Avengers #4,
less than 20 years had passed. Sure he was a man out of time, but not to
the extreme 55 years that he finds himself in this series.
