As a child growing up in a suburban village, I had absolutely no access to comic books, and as a kid, I was smitten with the X-Men, the Hulk and Spider-Man. However, I recall being given an issue from my uncle, and that issue was Ghost Rider #34. I have to admit that I have no memory of the plot. I had to look it up prior to writing this, but I remember having read it a great many times. The issue features Ghost Rider riding through a cemetery, landing on a train and being ambushed by an assailant named Death Ninja! Real classic, kid-friendly stuff. I would sit and flip through the comic almost daily, watching the train-top fight and never really having any idea who was good and who was bad but I really, really liked Death Ninja, so much so that I recall wanting my parents to get me a Death Ninja costume.
