Gideon Falls remains one of two go to Indy horror books (along with A Walk Through Hell) that presents a relatable world where all the layers of relatability are stripped away issue after issue, building a quiet dread punctuated by stabs of screaming nightmares that will hang with you long after you're done reading.

So not for children is what I'm saying.

Here, Father Burke, confronted by Norton Sinclair (a member of the Gideon Falls flock) as he is embodied by something more than/less than, capable of travelling to other places and times to spread the message of the red. Consider it Clive Barker by way of Neil Gaiman and you'll get an idea of what Lemire and Sorrentino are doing here.
