BONUS REVIEW by JOHN SCHAEFER
For better or worse, the current incarnation of the JLA has had better days. But in it's final outing before the Big 52, the James Robinson and Daniel Sampere throw at us a visual collage that is absolutely mind-blowing. Future story-lines that will never appear now are given a one or two page summing up that make me wish the book would continue on its current course. Guest appearances by Bozo the Robot and Gonzo, The Duke of Oil, GI Robot, Robotman (both versions!), the Red Torpedo, Jemm-Son of Saturn, the Faceless Hunter from Saturn, Gem-World overload the senses. Congorilla's decision to train the future heroes of Africa (only mentioned by name) and his quest to find the new B'wana Beast/Freedom Beast is downright tear-jerking. A pregnant Jesse Quick! I remember when she was just a fledging super-heroine chasing after Alan Scott and Jay Garrick. Sob! But most of all, the touching goodbyes as one by one the heroes leave the JLA base ... is enough...is
enough...oh dear, I can't go on.
