Life can be hard with someone looking over your shoulder all the time, watching how you meet their expectations of you. That's probably harder when you're Kang, and the person looking over your shoulder is you, Kang. Harder still? You look at you and decide..."lesser", and discern the best way to get you out of the picture.


It is all complicated. Time travel often is. Kang teaches Kang how to not be defeated like Kang, and in doing so teaches Kang that Kang is nothing if not a fully defeated man.


I'm not familiar in the least with writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly. Based on this issue, they must have had a h*ll of a pitch. I am familiar with artist Carlos Magno, who jumps up the Marvel food chain with this title. He's a detail oriented practitioner of comic realism, and a fine fit for this book. One or two more series like these, he's going to get bumped into the next crop of Young Guns, or Stormbreakers, or whatever term Marvel decides to use next.


Recommended for people who like it complicated, and who lose fights with themselves.
