Series come and go, and it appears that the last issue of this one will come next month. Yes, there is the cool art from Marian Churchland inside, and Amy Reeder will again showoff her talents next month. This issue, Chapter #5 of the “A Taste of Things To Come” storyline, offers the tale of a young woman, in 1966, who gets more than what she expected after some medical experimentation. Personally, I’ve liked Madame Xanadu, as a character, for decades, and I thought she offered a lot of potential. But this issue was something typical for this series lately, which had too little of the main character and far too much of a buildup of the problem, with the feeling that Wagner was, well, lost on what to do with her. Wagner gave the character some texture, but I wanted more. Here’s to your future, Madame Xanadu.
