The cover got me. Notice the Zeus! Unbound zap words, with the conflagration in the background, as Zeus is being ripped, literally, in half. Inside, Salazar offers stunning artwork on a chilling story where the good, and the bad, come together to stop Zeus, and the overthrow of the world. Yes, great artwork, but with a downside: abrupt pacing that spoils parts of the story. It’s a challenge, I know, to get a story to have an adequate buildup, with the obligatory cliffhanger, in x pages, all at a leveled pace, yet this issue, for me, lacked patience on the ‘adequate’ part. There were places I needed to fill in the gaps, which stopped me cold and made me wonder if I needed to visit the eye doctor, but after a reread, seeing that, no, it WAS the story. Disappointing, yes, but it’s exciting to see, and, despite it, I’m wondering what’s going to happen next.
