No sooner has Batman’s former sidekick, Jason Todd, put his past as the Red Hood behind him than he finds himself cornered by a pair of modern day outlaws: Green Arrow’s rejected sidekick Arsenal, the damaged soldier of fortune, and the alien Starfire, a former prisoner of intergalactic war who won’t be chained again. As a loner, Jason has absolutely no interest in this motley crew of outlaws. So what’s he going to do when they choose the Red Hood as their leader?

BONUS REVIEW by JOHN SCHAEFER
After all the too-doo over issue #1, I waited with baited breath for this book. And guess what, it did not disappoint me. Does that mean we get to see even more (is it possible?!)of mindless, naked, let's do it, Starfire? Does that mean even more women's groups will be boycotting hot, golden, alien chick immigration's offices? The answer is no. (HA!)
Issue 2 starts to expand the storyline and fills in some gaps in the history of our heroes. It highlights the witty reparte between Roy Harper and Jason Todd. It showcases the honorable fighting skills of the Red Hood. And guess what, Starfire doesn't have sex with anyone. In fact, we are beginning to see Kory in a new light. Just a quick review of Starfire history. No one will argue Kory's hot alien babe status from day one. Her appearance in that wonderful George Perez purple one piece with the v-cut back in the day that raised her to a high plateu in the DC Hot Babe top ten. But she is an alien warrior princess that was taken into slavery and betrayed by her evil sister. She has had to endure torture, possession, human moral codes, and hundreds of other attrocities that come with being a hot alien warrior princess super-hero babe in the DC Universe. If watching tons of bad sword and sorcery B-movies has shown us anything, it's that warrior babes
have a more (dare I say it) male attitude toward sex. Warrior chicks get an itch, they get it scratched and that's that. That doesn't mean that your a slut. It means you're practical. (You wanna see shameless Kory hit your back issue box for the issue of Titans where Nightwing and Starfire are controlled by Raven's step-brother, Lust. Wow!) Issue 2 shows us Kory as a capable personal assistant, an annoyed friend, and best of all, a compassionate warrior (Can't believe it, check out the last page.) Is Red Hood and the Outlaws my favorite title of the New 52, no. But it is starting to grow on me. PS. Thank you, Scott Lobdell for proving me right.
