'JAZZ APPLE ARMAGEDDON,' Part One: The fate of the world rests in the hands of the worst person on it! NEW ONGOING SERIES from the writer of DEADLY CLASS! RICK REMENDER launches an all-new comedy espionage series, THE SCUMBAG-the story of Ernie Ray Clementine, a profane, illiterate, drug-addicted biker with a fifth-grade education. He's the only thing standing between us and total Armageddon because this dummy accidentally received a power-imbuing serum, making him the world's most powerful super spy. This new ongoing series will feature a murderers' row of all-star artistic talent rotating each issue. The first issue showcases the stunning work of LEWIS LaROSA, with subsequent chapters and covers by brilliant talents such as ANDREW ROBINSON, ERIC POWELL, TULA LOTAY, WES CRAIG, ROLAND BOSCHI, SIMONE DI MEO, MARGUERITE SAUVAGE, DUNCAN FEGREDO, YANICK PAQUETTE, MIKE McKONE, DAVE JOHNSON, MORENO DINISIO, and many more!

Reviews

Imagine the worst person you know. Now give them a heroin addiction. Now imagine them with loose morals, looser bowels, crippling debt, swimming through a hallucination.

Now give them superpowers and tell them they have to save the Earth. That's not gonna go well, is it? We all succumb to our basest instincts from time to time. We're not great when we do that. Someone who doesn't know their instincts are the basest possible option 100% of the time? There's a great Bukowski quote to start the book that will explain that.

This is an inspired creation by Rick Remender and Lewis Larosa and a cavalcade of upcoming greats including Eric Powell, Wes Craig, and more. Each issue will be drawn by a top flight artist, will be on time, and based on this issue, will be a reason to live.

THIS issue? Lewis Larosa (Punisher Max) has always been underappreciated. His work is next level good here, and kudos beyond kudos to colorist Moreno Dinisio for showing that someone still gets how to use a pallete to help tell the story.

I can't recommend this book enough. I'm making it returnable in our Dekalb store if you don't like it, but when you LOVE it, tell us as soon as possible so we can add it to your pull list while we can still adjust our ordering for #2.

Not for children.
