Dr. Aphra is >>this<< close to being cancelled.

Not because sales are bad. They aren't. Not because the book isn't good. It is. Sure, it's not Darth Vader good (the first Darth Vader, not the current Darth Vader. That Darth Vader isn't Dr. Aphra good), but it is 'grab a copy and make sure you read it early in your stack' good. That's pretty good, right?

You can't have a book if the lead is dead, though. Our Aphra is just about looking Darth Vader in the face right now. He thinks she's dead, so that will not go well when it happens. She also has two murderbots that are sick of her antics and long for a freedom she's kept in check since we met them. I suspect they will get their own book next after Aphra is gone and Kieron Gillen isn't allowed to make them leads when he takes over 'Star Wars' proper.
