Reviews

First thing is that in all honesty, I bought this book because of the cover. Penciller Joelle Jones and Colorist Kelly Fitzpatrick's team up really provides an eye catching image. But Writer Mariko Tamaki, provides us with something that has been sorely missing from comic shelves for years. A comic that can be recommended for young girls! Now, I may not be a girl nor am I even close to being a teenager any more but I can vaguely remember what it was like to have my first pimple and what it was like to realize that I had entered that awkward stage of life and this story reads just like life. No crazy super-villians, no question raising gender issues, just good old fashion adolescence! Super of not, Kara's story is one we all go through and it's nice to see it represented on the comic page.
