As Superman deals with the continuing fallout from the world knowing his truth as Clark Kent, he finds himself faced with a physical threat beyond anything he has ever faced before. Issue #26 is what was advertised for #25. It has one inker, an almost issue long fight, no communication from our newer, stranger, visitor from another world, and puts every single person on Earth in danger should they happen to be near Clarkerman. All these factors make it a better issue than the last.

What would have made this a GREAT issue? What would have made this a GREAT story? Bendis is leaving. Two more issues. Synmar turns up, wreaks havoc, no explanation for it. Issue #25 just didn't exist, and there's a four issue long fight and Superkent never gets his bearings as everything he loves is destroyed. That would have been amazing. I can see not burning bridges, and that Edit+torial would have never let that through, but I bet it would be satisfying for a writer who has produced good to excellent work in the three years he's been at DC, all to be shunted off for a STILL UNANNOUNCED new creative team. I can't wait to see what TBD has in store for the Man of Steel...
