Venom #5 (2018)

As a huge Venom fan I was worried when I started the series not knowing where Donny Cates was taking this new origin for Venom. Yet with this issue Cates hits it out of the park, gearing us up for the Web of Venom Ve Nam and Venom 1st host storylines coming out soon. This issue delves further into what - or better yet why - the symbiote god Knull is showing his face on Earth, and how Eddie and Venom will deal with this new agitator. With a surprising twist you do not want to miss out on this issue - and when I say twist I mean “You NEED to check this out if you are a fan of Venom at all!” Stegman continues to pull me in with the beautiful artwork and let’s just say an awesome evolution of Venom over the course of these last couple issues. I cannot iterate enough that anyone hesitant to pick up this series needs to now because I have a feeling that this is a game changer in the history of Venom.
