What If #3 (1977) has been added to your cart.
Written by Jim Shooter, and featuring some of the best comic art I've ever seen by one of the best comic art teams to date. GIL KANE & KLAUS JANSON.
I know everyone considers KLAUS JANSON the perfect inker for FRANK MILLER - but, I'd rather have seen JANSON finishes on GIL KANE any day of the week. Few inkers could handle GIL KANE's loose pencils properly, keeping the energy alive while still making the proper decisions on which lines should stay and which needed to go. No one handled it better than JANSON - the art is simply gorgeous to behold. The 3rd story for the relatively new WHAT IF title explored the idea of the AVENGERS basically disbanding after their 2nd issue, and Jim Shooters has never written a better story. I bought it off the stands at the local grocery store when I was 10, and it's remained my favorite comic to date. If you find a copy - pick it up. I consider it a MUST READ for everyone.
