VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
Written by STUART MOORE Pencils and Cover by C.P. SMITH

New York's seedy Bowery district, 1937. In the past twenty-four hours, private detective Jim Logan has been jerked around by a dame called Mariko and beaten half to death by a bruiser named Creed. Now he's ready for payback. But little does he realize that it might just be the secrets of Logan's violent past that bring him down for good.
BONUS REVIEW by LONNY HARPER

By the numbers Wolverine inner conflict while recovering from external wounds. A couple of good panels patching in what little bit is left of his origin backstory. The time setting just offers up so many more possibilities. It is perfect for the type of international / spy story Wolverine's character is naturally drawn to. The first panel promises at going that direction but instead we get way, way, too much backdrop on a "gal" suckering Wolverine. And it is extremely predictable. If you like the weight of Wolvie's past memories tearing him apart far worse than Creed ever has pick er' up. Then again, maybe Aaron's Mystique storyline, and Millar have just had me spoiled.

I give it 2 out of 10 Grahams
