Because you demanded it! The X-Women finally get their own book, from critically acclaimed superstars Brian Wood (X-MEN, ULTIMATE X-MEN, DMZ, The Massive) and Olivier Coipel (AVX, HOUSE OF M, THOR)! An old enemy shows up at the X-Men's door, seeking asylum from an ancient evil come back to earth. Meanwhile, Jubilee has come home, and she's brought with her an orphaned baby who might hold the key to the earth's survival…or its destruction. Against a backdrop of what seems like an alien invasion and an eons-spanning war between brother and sister, Storm steps up and puts together a team to protect the child and stop a new threat that could destroy all life on earth

BONUS REVIEW by Shanna (Berry) Wallace

This is it boys and girls, the X-Book you’ve been waiting for. Whether you are a fan of the newer stuff, the old Claremont stuff, the Whedon, Morrison middle stuff, doesn’t matter – this is a must read.

Rogue is back in all powerful glory, flying and smashing again, rekindling an old flame in need of some gas. Leading the team is the ever authoritive Storm, blazing forth with her 80’s mohawk. Last but not least, Jubilee is back in non-annoying fashion! Taking her back to her routes as an orphan from Cali, she’s just as you remember her: the hipster rockin a too-cool-for-school attitude.

Old school fans can agree, this is a blast from the past. Even the pacing and layout gives nods to 80s & 90s X-Men while paving a brand new story with a lesser known villain in desperate need of modernization and usage.

Easily stated, this is the best X-Men book I have read in YEARS!!!

Just what the world needed, another X-men book! Hey, but this one has a twist, it's all women! Cause that idea is working so well for Marvel over in Fearless Defenders! The intro to the book sums it all up. It's a classic retelling of the Adam and Eve story except Adam and Eve are interstellar germs and Adam kicked Eve out of the universe. Storm's got her Mohawk back? Jubilee's carrying around a baby? There's a mutant chick fight in the halls of the Charles Xavier (oops, scratch that) Jean Grey School? Is Rogue's hair getting whiter? Now, this book isn't completely bad. Coipel's artwork is ok. Wood's story is ok but it doesn't seem very X-men-ish. The story could easily remove the X-men and replace them with the Fantastic Four, Avengers, Defenders, Champions, etc. Not an especially focused idea to start the foundation of a new X-men title. And for goodness sake, can we be a little more original with the title. X-men #1 again?! At least throw an All-New or Legacy, etc. on the darn thing so we can tell them apart!
