MESSIAH COMPLEX PART 5 of 13

The X-Men versus the Marauders! A rematch of the unforgettable fight from X-Men #200. But will the battle turn in favor of the X-Men this time? Not if Sinister can help it. Layla and Madrox continue their mission to uncover the truth of mutant extinction, friends become foes to the X-Men at the worst time possible, and whereabouts of the baby are revealed at last.

"Right before I read this, someone asked me, Whats this Messiah CompleX thing about, anyway? And after I reset my brain due to hearing someone inexplicably pronounce an upper-case letter at the END of a word, I realized that I couldnt really explain the plot in a way that would be exciting, besides saying, Its actually a pretty good X-Men story. And after this issue, thats still all Ive got. Theres a baby, and Marauders, and Lady Deathstrike, and a lot of people with Xs on their clothes, and the huge return of a major character this chapter. (Might not be a surprise, depending on how much you bought this characters death, or are aware of Marvels post-CompleX plans. So, your mileage may vary.) A bunch of plots get handled in exciting ways, but the Madrox (MadroX?) and Layla plot still doesnt seem to matter, and I think only Mike Carey remembers anyone who is on the Marauders besides Gambit. Oh, and Bishop wanders in for a few panels. Hooray?"
