It's blood, sweat, and brutal truths as the new creative team of Andy Diggle (THUNDERBOLTS) and Roberto De La Torre (IRON MAN) continue their first breathtaking story arc! While the Kingpin secretly builds his power base, Daredevil and Master Izo collide violently over the future of the guild of assassins known as The Hand, and Foggy fears the Matt Murdock he once knew may be gone for good.

Our 3 part storyline that began in DA #10 wraps up here. Usually BMB drags storylines on until you've forgotten the whole point of the thing - so these past 3 issues have been a refreshing change. The current run in Daredevil is taking its characters back to familiar territory while forcing them into entirely new roles all at the same time. Its been great to see Matt Murdock more or less forced into a role of leadership that he doesn't feel ready for. Similarly, it has also been enjoyable to watch the Kingpin struggle to resume a role of leadership he was entirely comfortable with, but has since lost. The best part of issue 503 was seeing Matt realize that the Hand is a monster that can certainly be reigned in and guided, but definitely not controlled. This issue is a great place to jump into the Daredevil universe and I would highly recommend you pick up this issue as well as the 3 that precede it.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
